Forgot to change my clock!

So I went to bed last night knowing that the jet-lag would be AWFUL.  I woke up as expected in the middle of the night and forced myself NOT to look at the clock, but just to turn over and go back to sleep...I did.  At some point later I woke again, but this time curiosity got the better of me and I rolled over to click on my iPhone...6 o'clock...NAILED IT!!! Nic - 1, Jet Lag - 0...Oh wait...it couldn't be...nah, that would just be too much...I should check...wouldn't that be funny...no it wouldn't...OH FOR GOODNESS SAKE TAKE ANOTHER LOOK...OH NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!  It's 6pm Canadian time, which is 1am English time!  Son of a...I forgot to change the time on my phone!!!  Well that was just the kiss of death because then I was awake, and mad, for the next 3 hours.  I finally fell asleep at 4am under intense pressure that my parents would be supplying a wake up call in a matter of hours!  9am rolls around and man am I tired.

Nevertheless today was a good day!  I had a visit from my best friend who drove an hour down to see me, and we had a pub lunch by the docks and a great catch up.  After a tearful goodbye (yes we are seeing each other in another month when I return with my family), I went shopping with Mum and Dad, had tea at Marks and Spencer, bought my son some Starbucks coins (amongst other things), and even squished in a 20 minute nap.  I am now at the end of the day and eagerly looking forward to sleep.

By the way I seem to have made a name for myself already here...one waiter looked horrified when the other waiter asked me tonight if I wanted to take my food back to my room!  He quickly had to explain that he was being sincere in his question because "she asked to take the rest of her fish pie back there yesterday!"  Ha ha - they do NOT do 'to go' bags here and the concept was clearly highly amusing last night.  I quickly gave the excuse that I live in Canada and that's how they do it there!!!
