HOME SWEET HOME

I am happy to say that I am home safe and sound.  I was met at the airport just after midnight by my wonderfully supportive husband, and greeted at home by my pups!  The kids were obviously in bed, but I did sneak a quick look in on them - My daughter invariably woke up in the night and came in to check to see if I was home.  I got huge hugs, and lots of "I love you and I missed you" comments.  My little guy managed to sleep through until he climbed in to bed with me this morning exclaiming that he really missed his cuddles!!!  You and me both kiddo!

Feeling exceptionally sad and down today despite being at home again with my family.  I can't shake the feeling that we are already nearing the first month (yes I know I can't think like that, but that's on par with telling someone not to breathe!), and that was the last time I will ever see my mum in England - the country where I was born and raised for the most part.  Lots of memories, all of which will seem slightly dulled without her there in future.  Very emotional at the airport - last time she will see me off at Heathrow...lots of lasts which is the origin of most of the pain, but I guess that's inevitable.  At times like this it's hard to think of all the positives because you are sitting under a thundercloud that is following you around despite your best efforts to shake it.  Once in a while the sun comes out and you enjoy it whilst it lasts before the next thunderstorm rolls in...a bit like English weather really.

Having lost 7lbs since the news, I have managed to put 2lbs back on courtesy of the really good hotel food.  I'm sure it will disappear again over the coming week as I ride the roller coaster once again.  Every now and again I reach a plateau which is my new "normal"...that's when I function best.  I shall endeavour to make supper tonight as home cooked meals often do the trick.  Oh and on a side note, I came home to a house that was so clean it was practically shining!!!  My husband has always wanted to get a cleaner in but I've never let him on the premise that I needed to clean the place before I let someone in to see the state of it!  Well the cheeky stinker went and did it whilst I was away!  I'll let him off because it looks so good...I may even be persuaded to bring her back once in a while as she was so good...watch this space!
